ABOUT US and our activities

Shri Nijanand Spiritual and Cultural Association is a non-profit corporation in the state of Pennsylvania. The organization is engaged in religious and cultural activities and follows the formal code of doctrine and discipline of the Holy Kuljam Swaroop and Holy Bitak Saheb(Religious Scriptures). It is incorporated exclusively for charitable, literary, scientific, religious and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as the same may be amended, modified or replaced by any future United States Internal Revenue Law (the “Code”).

Weekly Worship Services

The Association holds worship services every Sunday. A morning service held. These services are currently held at 2110 Myrtle St, Scranton PA leading by the organization’s preachers. The association is working to get their own space at the convenient location.

Senior Engagement/Recreational Activities:

The organizations run senior citizenship class and English as a Second Language (ESL) class every Saturday from 10 am – 12 pm to help our elderly people for the preparation of civic tests and learn more about United States laws, rules and regulations. Additionally, the organization will be providing recreational activities to elderly people as well to engage them in fun activities and refreshment.

Music and dance classes

The organization will be running a music and dance class every Saturday and Sunday from 12 pm – 2 pm. The students will learn the traditional folk dance, hip pop dance, classical dance and so on. The proctors will be teaching the classical music and help the students to learn and play the musical instruments.

Physical/Mental Exercise (Yoga and Meditation):

Physical exercise is the best way to stay healthy and makes you feel happier. The well-trained yoga trainer will be teaching the yoga and meditation every morning as available to enhance the concentration and encourages the healthy and happy lifestyles.

Cultural Activities

In order to preserve our culture, the association will strengthen, protect and preserve our cultural and religious heritage by connecting social bonding among the various religious and ethnic communities and conduct the cultural activities during major festivals time.

Nutrition Education and Counseling

The association will be offering Nutrition education class every Saturday and Sunday and counsel all the community people to encourage and educate every infant, children, adults, elderly people, and women or new mothers in creating healthy and nutritious food selection and modify eating behaviors to healthy eating habits as well keep comfort in everyday life. Also, the organization will provide nutrition based knowledge to them and promotes them to explore their senses and achieve practical food preparation skills as well.
